First blog post – More than 140 characters required.

I’ve started a blog for myself really so I can look back and see what lessons I’ve learnt over the last few years, in a few years time.

I orignally thought about having a blog based on the strange cranial-vomitus that occurs as I’m sat on the loo. It was going to to be called Big Bobs Big Log Blog. Had it have happened I would now be able to look back upon some excellent ideas such as Snot repellent toilet walls, sound muting toilets, an alarm to warn of impending paper shortage and all manner of non-toilet related themes.

As can be seen in the profile I have a varied list of hobbies and past-times that make my time disappear into the voids when a normal person might be sat in front of a tv or shopping etc.. The photography one though got me to thinking how I could explain what I did to get a photo and why I did it.

I’m a part of the Caterpillar Photographic Society run by members from my workplace (no formal links to Cat) and we are engaged in monthly competition to take the “best” photo.

So far the categories we’ve done are Tree, Close Up, Night, Sky, and Architecture. There have been some great photos submitted by the members and the monthly winners will be used to make a calendar for sale at the end of the year.

The photos I’ve taken and submitted have not always been good so I’m going to explain the methods behind each one of them, why I took it and how I took it and my learning points that I took from it.

I’ll start tomorrow by uploading my Tree photo and explain that one…. See you there.
