This week we talk about space and how other artists, photographers make use of it in their work. We discuss how it is used, why it works or doesn’t and I find another photographer in Kander who I really enjoy the work of.
This week saw me getting into the colour darkroom once more, this time with some good chemistry in the machine. After this we discussed our essay plans and then the topic of Space.
Busy week this week, first develop a roll of Ilford HP5+, then a tutorial about my practice and lastly a seminar about critical thinking. Fully packed sessions.
A day off from work can only mean one thing, more university work in the form of a day out in Birmingham to visit some exhibitions.

A Practice Review this morning followed by a seminar on preparing for an exhibition. It’s all happening so fast!!
I used a day holiday from work to go and be an assistant at a photo shoot in the Wolverhampton School Of Art for the Black Country Chamber Of Commerce magazine, Prosper.
A busy week this week, apart from not getting any colour printing done. We had a tutorial on our practice, followed by seminars and discussions on Texts and Videos we’ve been looking into.
A fun packed day in Week Four of Semester 1. Some printing, some washing, some spilling of drinks, a tutorial and a fire alarm evacuation.
Watch something task, I watch lots of photography content on YouTube but could I narrow it down? Yes I could. A mixture of street photography, film photography and talk about methods and practice make this an ideal video to discuss.
Week 3 and Sylvia tasked us with reading an essay by Martha Rosler and interpreting it. What does it mean? After reading it a few times I did get something out of it, have a read what my thoughts wre.
In Semester 1 Week 2 Sylvia asked us to choose two images from the Wolverhampton Art Gallery and to spend some time listening to them. Which images did I select and what did I hear?
Can you listen to a photograph? Apparently you can, this week we learn how to interpret a photograph using a listening methodology.
