The Exhibition is here, The Matter Of The Black Country, at Centrala. We still had to pick up the work, install it and prepare for the opening. This is a brief catch up on the evening of the opening and the work that leads up to it.
This week sees a scramble to get my freshly developed negatives of Dudley Zoo scanned in and then printed out in the darkroom. A session with Jim in the Print hub and a review of the project in the form of a presentation to the rest of the group.
With an assignment to submit, talk of the exhibition and steps left to complete before the set up. Then a quick chat with Euripides about non-standard film processing techniques.
Today saw us have a day of production in advance of the Centrala exhibition in January. I concentrated on the rescale films that I’ve had back recently and spent some time printing in the dark room as well as some scanning in the basement.
This week was a bit of printing in the dark room, a presentation of the midway review and a trip to the art gallery.
Tuesday 7th May sees us Level 5 Students sit down with Sylvia for an assessment tutorial before the final hand in on the 9th May, this Thursday.

To accompany my exhibition work, the series of three photographs called Shutdown, I created a small zine that contained the three displayed images and the some of the shortlisted works that I decided not to use in the show.
This Tuesday we had to go back to Eagle Works to take down the exhibition, repair the walls and make good the place so it would be ready to hand back to the Eagle Works team.
Some of my research that I found when investigating my Practice around Liminal Spaces and my Contextual essay on Atmosphere in photographs.
Today was the last day of our Level 5 Exhibition – Timeless Perspectives at the Eagle Works, Wolverhampton.
We had opened on Thursday with a private view and then yesterday saw a couple of people come and view the exhibition. Would today bring more visitors?
This post is about how I chose to display the images in the upcoming exhibition and the lengths I’ve been to in order to pull it off.
This week consists of two days. the first was a Tutorial and a chat about the exhibition which is due to open in mid-April. Have a look at the reasons why I’ve selected some photos and not others along with the overall theme developing of the show.
This week sees the whole uni still without computers so it was into the old school colour darkrooms with some negatives. That joined with a tutorial on the Practice module too as prep for the exhibition in April.
Time for the third shoot within the factory, and this time it’s after shutdown, when everyone has left for the Christmas break. I find out that I have the factory in my DNA.
Today saw some more pointless colour printing and a trip to the Eagle Works for a look at an exhibition space for our Easter exhibition
A Practice Review this morning followed by a seminar on preparing for an exhibition. It’s all happening so fast!!
