Group Review this week of the project so far. Some students have shot a rehearsal, live gig and promo shots in the studio. Others are yet to do so. This is a brief catch up of where I am in the process of the submission for the year and the BIMM Brief.

This week saw me attend a live gig for a band from BIMM Birmingham, only to catch the last three bars of their set, but I had fun stopping there to photograph the remaining bands that were playing in the Night Owl, Birmingham.
A symposium from the Royal Photographic Society’s Historical Group at the University of Wolverhampton on “the history and impact of photography.”
This Monday came around and Brian , my coursemate from the course at Wolverhampton University, had organised to meet Wooden Dog for a photo shoot at the BIMM Live Rooms.
A day out in early January to drive a Batmobile, visit Bisley Shooting centre and also Brunell Brutalist University.
The Exhibition is here, The Matter Of The Black Country, at Centrala. We still had to pick up the work, install it and prepare for the opening. This is a brief catch up on the evening of the opening and the work that leads up to it.
Day Two of the Matt Stuart Street Photography Workshop in London. Where we wander around the East End and then head over to the Barbican for a lovely fun feedback session.
Today saw us have a day of production in advance of the Centrala exhibition in January. I concentrated on the rescale films that I’ve had back recently and spent some time printing in the dark room as well as some scanning in the basement.
This week was a bit of printing in the dark room, a presentation of the midway review and a trip to the art gallery.
This week consists of two days. the first was a Tutorial and a chat about the exhibition which is due to open in mid-April. Have a look at the reasons why I’ve selected some photos and not others along with the overall theme developing of the show.
This week sees the whole uni still without computers so it was into the old school colour darkrooms with some negatives. That joined with a tutorial on the Practice module too as prep for the exhibition in April.
Nearly time to go home, one more day to pack in lots of museums and photography, does it work out as planned? You bet it doesn’t.
