This week was noted in Canvas as the finalising for print and technical support week. I have my photo of the blinds in Shirehall already printed ready to be wrapped up so I can transport it to he Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery. I am not showing in the Degree Show as my degree show will be next year, as I am studying part time.

I headed into the basement after walking past the the security guard that was still required after the upset the week before. They were here to protect the staff and students from any issues.
Lilly and Joel have been busy in the darkroom so I had a good chinwag with them about that. Joel’s large wall mounted prints were to be enlarged after affixing the paper to the wall and spinning the enlarger 90 degrees to expose the paper on the wall. Euripides considered the print a bit soft and was advising to use scanning and digital printing, but Dan was ok with it so this might go back to huge enlargement exercise.
As a form of tutorial I had a good chat with Gavin about my work that will be wrapped up today and stored until the exhibition in early May. We talked about other plans for the future, like sticking with the documentation of the downfall of Shirehall and following whatever happens with the council decisions over the next year or two. I also mentioned that my drone video will be accompanying the Shirehall exhibition at the SM&AG
Gavin suggested I have a go at setting up some events such as photowalks on eventbrite where I can organise for a group of people to wander around taking photographs. He said that people will see things on eventbrite and see how many people come along. This is something I see being done by people on instagram by StreetByMatt who does walks around the Spaghetti Junction and other areas of the West Midlands.
Maybe I’ll look into doing something like this over the summer perhaps a walk around Shrewsbury, Shirehall, Market Hall, Car Park etc. I would need to be careful with the car park as a group of people organised to walk around an active car park might be considered dangerous and also annoy the owners of the car park.
He then told me about an artist called Mish Mash and another called Daniel Eastcock It looks like these will be a huge rabbithole to go and run down so I’ll take a look at it after I get home later.
I was then able to get into the print storage area and use the bubble wrap, tape and tools to safely and carefully wrap up my print and prepare it for the journey home and then onwards to the SM&AG. After it was all safely ensconced on the top shelf of the store I headed back down to the studio area and had a few more chats with my peers and the technicians.
